When using a Touch-Up Burn-In Stick to repair a deep scratch or gash, Burn Balm should be applied to the undamaged area around the repair site to protect the original finish. Typically the Burn-In Stick is melted into the area and then smoothed over with a heated knife. The repair is then lightly smoothed over with fine sandpaper, and finish is applied to make the repair permanent.
